6.2 Customer Care
a) Providing excellent customer service is always one of the important roles of station staff in addition to safe and reliable service. This makes the journey of the passengers more valuable and leaves them a delightful experience.
b) Station staff members are working in the frontline with frequent contacts with customers. Therefore, following key principles shall be observed and followed:
i - All staff shall project a professional image during their course of work and always maintain a smart and presentable outlook. Uniform shall be clean and tidy.
ii - Be patient, polite and pleasant all the time and take an active role in providing assistance to passengers. Servicing passenger with enthusiasm, willingness, politeness, initiative and helpfulness.
iii - Be helpful and show concern by exercising utmost patience. Be flexible and tactful when dealing with difficult and demanding passengers.
iv - Handle complaints with empathy. Think of the needs of the customer and make attempt to solve their problems.
v - Upkeep of job knowledge and be able to respond proficiently to all incidents to minimize passengers’ discomfort and inconvenience.
vi - These principles shall also be applied to internal customers.
