The 2002 is based off the 1602 platform, dropping in a 2.0L Inline 4 motor. The performance of the car was pretty remarkable, producing around 105 bhp. The car featured a fully independent front and rear suspension, making it handle well. Also available in European markets was the 2002ti, the ti standing for touring international. The 2002ti featured twin solex carburetors, producing around 120 bhp. An optional 300 degree duration camshaft was available for more power. In 1972, the 2002tii was introduced. The tii, standing for touring international injected, featured Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection, raising horsepower to 135 bhp. The 2002tii also had larger brakes, larger wheels, and heavy duty suspension modifications, making this one of the most desirable of all 2002 models.
