เนื่องจากงานวิจัยฉบับนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพซึ่งการกำหนดขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างในการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพนั้นไม่สามารถกำหนดจำนวนที่แน่นอนล่วงหน้าได้เพียงแต่สามารถกำหนดเป็นแนวทางหรือเป็นการประมาณการไว้เท่านั้น ซึ่งงานวิจัยฉบับนี้จะใช้วิธีการกำหนดขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างจากงานวิจัยในอดีตที่ทำการวิจัยในประเด็นปัญหาที่ และมีการออกแบบการวิจัยที่คล้ายคลึงกันเพื่อดูจุดอิ่มตัวของข้อมูลในงานวิจัยเหล่านั้นแล้วนำมาเป็นฐานในการกำหนดขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างในการออกแบบและวางแผนการวิจัย (B. Marshall et al., 2013; Onwuegbuzie & Leech, 2007)เพื่อให้การกำหนดขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างของงานวิจัยน่าเชื่อถือ ซึ่งในงานวิจัยฉบับนี้จะใช้กลุ่มตัวอย่างประมาณ 6-8 คน
