Согласно оптимистичным ожиданиям, членство страны в ВТО запустит новую волну, сопровождающуюся интенсивным ростом экономики, открытием Казахстана для большего количества иностранных инвесторов. Вступив в ВТО, Казахстан станет способным реализовывать свою новую стратегию 2050, одной из основных целей последней является вхождение республики в 30-ку конкурентоспособных стран мира. Казахстан является крупнейшей экономикой в Центральной Азии, которая стремительно догоняет развитые страны. В течение 21 года, в качестве независимого государства, Казахстан добился значительного прогресса в реализации сложных политических, экономических и социальных реформ, направленных на создание демократического государства с рыночной экономикой. Согласно прогнозам Всемирного Банка, ВВП РК на душу населения в 2016 года достигнет 15 000 американских долларов, на сегодняшний день этот показатель равен 11 300 американских долларов. К сожалению, это всего лишь прогнозы и предположения, а вот насколько и действительно ли это выгодно Казахстану - острый вопрос, за разрешением которого эксперты, аналитики, да и простые обыватели обращаются к опыту соседних стран, уже являющимися членами организации
