Proses mencari bahan ajar melalui model pembelajaran portofolio harus memberikan pengalaman belajar yang terpadu bagi mahasiswa di dalam kelas sebagai satu kesatuan yang utuh karena dalam model pembelajaran portofolio ini mahasiswa dituntut untuk mampu memadukan, menghubungkan dan menganalisis teori-teori yang telah diajarkan oleh dosen dengan isu-isu sosial di masyarakat.
