On the other hand, it is well known that CIRS
often face major barriers in keeping clinicians continuously
engaged, for example, lack of or delayed
feedback/analytical results to frontline clinicians, including
problem identification and actions taken to
foster safer care.31,32 Two-thirds of our nurse sample
reported receiving feedback from their hospital management
about changes based on event reports. Surprisingly,
however, the path between ‘‘feedback and
communication regarding errors’’ and ‘‘overall perception
of patient safety’’ was not statistically significant.
