Die Bildung beginnt mit der Vorschulerziehung. Kinderkrippen und Kindergärten bilden die unterste Stufe des belorussischen Bildungssystems. Sie haben die Aufgabe, die körperlichen, geistigen Kräfte der Kinder im Kollektiv zu entwickeln, ihre individuellen Fähigkeiten zu fördern, den Kindern elementare Kenntnisse für den Eintritt in die allgemeinbildenden Schulen zu vermitteln.
Die elfklassige allgemeinbildende Mittelschule stellt die Basis des Bildungssystems dar. Sie muss allen Kindern ein hohes Niveau der Allgemeinbildung, der Arbeitsfertigkeiten, der geistigen Entwicklung und damit Grundlagen für eine allseitige Persönlichkeitsentwicklung vermitteln.
Die elfklassige allgemeinbildende Mittelschule beginnt mit der Unterstufe (die Klassen 1 – 4). In der Unterstufe erwerben die Schüler Grundfertigkeiten im Lesen und Schreiben, Kenntnisse und Fertigkeiten in Mathematik sowie Einblicke in Erscheinungen der Umwelt, der Arbeit. Die Mehrzahl der Schüler besuchen den Schulhort. Dort erledigen sie ihre Hausaufgaben und können sich bei Sport und Spiel erholen.
In der Mittelstufe (5. – 9.Klasse) werden die Kinder sich eingehender mit dem gesellschaftlichen Leben, der Arbeit, der Wissenschaft, Technik und Kultur vertraut gemacht. Hier werden die Schüler außerdem an fakultativen Kursen, an Zirkeln in Mathematik, Physik, in Naturwissenschaften und Sprachen teilnehmen, um sich mit interessanten Fragen zu beschäftigen, die Freizeit intensiv und zielgerichtet zu nutzen, schließlich Berufs- und Studienwünsche zu entwickeln. Dazu dienen auch die verschiedensten Zirkel und Klubs in der Schule.
Die Oberstufe (10. – 11.Klasse) schliesst die Allgemeinbildung in der Schule ab. Neben den obligatorischen Fächern haben die Schüler die Möglichkeiten, eine Reihe von Fächern auszuwählen, um ihre besondere Fähigkeiten, Neigungen und Talente voll zu entfalten.
Es gibt Spezialschulen und –klassen für begabte Schüler in Mathematik, Physik, Sport und Fremdsprachen. Daneben gibt es noch Kinder- und Jugendsportschulen und Musikschulen.
Der Besuch der 11klassigen allgemeinbildenden Mittelschule ist kostenlos. Es werden bei der Realisierung der Schulreform von den Lehrern und Stundenplanern neue Lehrpläne vorbereitet und Lehrbücher überarbeitet. Insgesamt stehen im Lehrplan der Elfklassenschule 22 Fächer. Davon sind einige neu, z.B. Ethik und Psychologie des Familienlebens, Grundlagen der Informathik und Rechentechnik.
Die Konzeption der lebenslangen Weiterbildung hat die Aufgabe, die Allgemeinbildung der Jugend durch die allgemeine Berufsausbildung zu ergänzen. Die Berufsausbildung umfasst auch die Berufsschulen nach dem Abschluss der 9. Klasse sowie die höheren Berufsschulen (Berufslyzeen, Berufstechnicka), die Facharbeiter höchster Qualifikation ausbilden. Allmählich werden Berufsschulen in elfklassige allgemeinbildende Berufsschulen umgewandelt. Die Berufsbildung vermittelt den Lehrlingen umfassende Kenntnisse und Fertigkeiten ihrer beruflichen Tätigkeit als Facharbeiter. Nach der Beendigung der elfklassigen allgemeinbildenden Mittelschule kann der Schulabgänger zusammen mit dem Reifezeugnis auch die Berufsqualifikation erwerben.
Die Hochschulbildung ist die höchste Stufe des Bildungswesens in Belarus. Die Hochschulen bilden hochqualifizierte Fachleute aus, die fähig sind, einzelne Fachaufgaben allein zu lösen und ihre wissenschaftlichen Kenntnisse selbstständig weiter zu erhöhen. Die Fachschulen bilden ihre Studenten zu hochqualifizierten Fachkräften aus. Diese sind in fast allen Zweigen der Volkswirtschaft tätig.
