بعد الإطلاع على المواصفة الخليجية تبين أن هنالك الكثير من الثغرات والتي إن لم يتم تعديلها بالسرعة الممكنة فإنها سوف تتسبب بالعديد من العقبات في التجارة بينها وبين أي من الدول التي تعتمد مواصفة الكودكس والإتحاد الأوروبي بالنسبة للمضافات الغذائية.
