อุทกภัย  อาจเกิดจากหลายสาเหตุด้วยกัน  ดังนี้

     3. พายุหมุนเขตร้อน  ซึ่งได้แก่ พายุดีเปรสชั่น พายุโซนร้อน และพายุใต้ฝุ่น ซึ่งทำให้ฝนตกเป็นเวลานาน ติดต่อกัน  ทำให้เกิดภาวะน้ำท่วมได้
