If a player chooses to raise, the amount he raises depends on the game played. Usually, it is two times the big blind. In Limit hold'em, it is the amount equal to the big blind. In Pot-Limit hold'em, it must not go beyond the pot size. In No-Limit hold'em, a player may raise by any amount as long as it can be covered by his chip stack. A player who bets all of his chips went "all in".
