Working in group is an important soft skills for young people in the modern life. Nowadays,T=he job makes them must work with the other people in one group, so they need that skill to get easier in their work. To get that skill, they have to practice it when they are students.
Grace Adams is a new student of a college, so she feels so hard to study in school because there are a lot of different lessons and new knowledge. There is an idea that new students should make a group to learn together to improve their studying. Everything has two face: one is good and one is bad.
If they join the study group, they will gain some values:
- Sharing the work: If they must do 3 questions, they can share work, each member do one question. It will help them save their time.
- More ways to solve the work: They may have a good way to solve the work by themselves, but they are not sure that the other do not have a better way than they, so if they work together and share idea, they can choose the best way for their job.
- Easily to acquire knowledge: When they learn together, they will understand all lessons before, so they can acquire new knowledge easier.
- Creating motivation for each person: If one person learn alone, they will be lazy than work in a group. Ex: They think that they will do that job latter if they learn alone, but if in group, they must do the job with the other, so they must be on time and do their work.
- Getting more relationships: Working with a lot of people, so actually you will get more relationships than when you work alone
- Supporting knowledge together: Maybe someone can not understand all lesson in class, so when they learn together, they can ask the other and the other will help they understand.
However, if looking from other face, they can lose something:
- Waste time:
+ Depending on the time of all members in group
+ Preparing information before the meeting
+ Explaining every problems to help all members understand clearly
- Waste energy:
+ Try to explain for the other
+ The difference about ability of each member lead to a better person must do more to help the other member understand the problem.
+ There are a lot of idea, and every members think that their idea is the best and the other idea is not as good as their once. So, the job will not be quality.
In the study group, there are many difference such as culture, personality, hobby, ability, gender,...that lead to many conflicts in group. The most affective is incomplete goal. That group can learn effectively and understand lessons clearly. Beside that conflict cause bad influence of break up relationship. A successful study group need to have good communication strategies. First of all, each member bypass their egos to built group together. Before sharing individual ideas, each member must listen and understand the other first.
Nowadays, During our study, taking part in the study group is very often happened, especially, learning at University, they have to participate in a study group more. Thanks to studying in group, they can solve very quick many difficult exercises, because in a study group, it often has 4 or 5 members, each member has a different level. Therefore, they can mutual support, it help we solve difficult exercises easier than working alone. Creating more opportunities for enthusiastic members to join together, and it will help boost morale,and boost work efficiency. When they take part in a study group, it help them have more ideas to solve an exercises by the best way. Studying in group help break the wall of separation, creating openness and friendliness among the members and leaders. Group activities to help to develop the ability to coordinate the creative mind to take the right decision. Working in group is really an important skill, so all of young people must practice for themselves to be successful in the future.
