ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2552 ทางสำนักศิลปากรที่ 3 จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา ได้ดำเนินงานทางโบราณคดีศึกษาในบริเวณพื้นที่ด้านตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือของเขาทุเรียน ระหว่างวันที่ 5-23 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2552 พบหลักฐานที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกองทัพทหารญี่ปุ่นสมัยสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 คือ
1) สิ่งก่อสร้าง 22 แห่ง ได้แก่ หลุมบุคคล, หลุมเพลาะยาว, หลุมจอดรถ, หลุมสำหรับตั้งปืนใหญ่ต่อสู้อากาศยาน, บันได, บ่อน้ำ และลานหิน
2) โบราณวัตถุ จำนวน 33 ชิ้น สามารถจัดแบ่งออกได้เป็น 3 กลุ่มคือ กลุ่มโลหะ (กระสุนปืนของปืนยาวรุ่น Arisaka, เกือกม้า, ตะปูเหล็ก, ตะปูตัวตรง, ตะปูรูปตัวยู, น็อต และแหวน), กลุ่มแก้ว (ก้นขวดแก้วสีฟ้า), และกลุ่มดินเผา (เศษกระถางดินเผา)
