Jennifer Lawrence is getting a lot of attention for her performance as Rosalyn in "American Hustle." Already having won Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards and earned a supporting-actress Academy Award nomination for her work in the Oscar-nominated film, the 23-year-old has definitely made a serious name for herself in Hollywood — not only for her acting but also for her independent nature.
The star has been very open about her dislike of dieting and love for junk food, and it turns out this adoration is even played out on film sets.
The Oscar-nominated film's costume designer, Michael Wilkinson, talked about J.Law getting Dorito dust all over one of her "American Hustle" costumes during an awards-season discussion at Diane von Furstenberg's "Journey of a Dress" event Monday night.
"Jennifer Lawrence is a very ... let's say ... raw and intuitive young lady," he said. "And she's not against eating Doritos and snack food in her costume. So we were glad that we had a couple of [backups]."
The film's director, David O. Russell, ordered a few versions of the dress, made specifically with fabric that cost $3.99 a yard to ensure that her costume would look as cheap and stretchy as possible. But one thing he probably didn't expect was that his actress would get Dorito dust on one of the gowns.
But this isn't the first time the actress's love for food has made headlines.
She dished about it in the January 2013 issue of Marie Claire South Africa magazine as well. "At the end of the day there's probably nothing that makes me feel better than junk food and reality TV."
