Quando ho cominciato Open Di A.Agassi mai e poi mai pensavo che avrebbe potuto appassionarmi la biografia di un campione di tennis, sport che, in tutta sincerità ho sempre trovato noioso.
Nulla di più errato! Sono rimasto folgorato. Open contiene tutti gli elementi di una vicenda avvincente, che tiene incollato il lettore fin dalle prime pagine.
Agassi non è un tennista qualunque. E’ stato il numero 1 al mondo. Ma…Agassi odia il tennis.
Attraverso questo incredibile conflitto, Open racconta la storia non solo di un tennista, ma anche la storia di un uomo che, mentre diventa inesorabilmente uno dei tennisti migliori di tutti i tempi, cerca di rispondere alla domanda madre di tutte le domande: “chi sono io? Chi è l’uomo André Agassi? Una domanda con la quale ogni uomo, più volte nel corso della vita, si trova a confrontarsi.
Così Open diventa storia universale, epica, commuovente, ricca di suspense, e quanto mai appassionante.
Un celebre passaggio di Salinger nel Giovane Holden recita così: “i libri che mi piacciono di più sono quelli che quando li hai finiti di leggere vorresti che l’autore fosse un tuo amico per la pelle e poterlo chiamare al telefono tutte le volte che ti gira.”
