Chúng tôi đến từ HTK Inc., một công ty chuyên về lĩnh vực cung cấp các giải pháp công nghệ thời gian thực (real-time technology). Chúng tôi có 2 văn phòng chính: 1 ở TP. Hồ Chí Minh, 1 ở Đà Nẵng. Vì tính nhất quán và hiệu quả công việc, hàng ngày chúng tôi phải liên lạc với nhau thường xuyên giữa 2 văn phòng qua email, điện thoại và liên tục sử dụng các công cụ chia sẻ file trực tuyến. Một công ty công nghệ nên việc ứng dụng tối đa hoá công nghệ vào nơi làm việc là điều tất nhiên. Gmail, Viber, Whatsapp, Skype hay Google Drive đều được ứng dụng triệt để. Điểm chung, tất cả các ứng dụng trên đều đến từ những công ty nổi tiếng trên thế giới và... không có sản phẩm nào do tự tay chúng tôi-một công ty chuyên cung cấp các giải pháp công nghệ ở Việt Nam làm ra.

Bắt đầu từ mong muốn "app nhà mình làm, ngon hơn nhà người ta làm", đội ngũ nhân viên công ty bắt tay vào việc tạo ra một công cụ để giúp việc liên lạc, kết nối giữa 2 văn phòng dễ dàng, thuận tiện hơn do chính người nhà làm. Với mong muốn tạo ra một ứng dụng giúp nhân viên làm việc với một năng suất cao như đàn kiến (Ant) trong môi trường thân thiện, vui vẻ như bạn bè (Buddy). AntBuddy chính thức được ra đời.

Từ định hướng phát triển ban đầu, AntBuddy chỉ sử dụng ở phạm vi nội bộ công ty, nhưng nhận thấy nhiều doanh nghiệp đang gặp phải những vấn đề tương tự như chính công ty chúng tôi. Họ hàng ngày phải trả lời có khi lên đến hàng trăm email, nghe điện thoại liên tục từ các đối tác, sử dụng nhiều công cụ khác nhau để gửi file hay mở hàng chục tab trên trình duyệt.
