There are three major democratic systems based on the relationship of the people to the legislative or policy-making process. In the simplest form, called direct democracy or pure democracy, the people act as their own legislature. There are no representatives;in other words, the people make the laws for themselves. You can recall that Jean Jacques Rousseau favored this kind of government system. He argued that no one could truly represent another person's will.Hence, all the individuals in the society must represent themselves.
