Company History
Tune Insurance Malaysia Berhad (TIMB) was incorporated in Malaysia on 27 December 1976 as a private limited company under the Act as United Oriental Assurance Sdn Bhd and began its operations in 1977. It was converted to a public limited company on 1 August 1997 and assumed the name United Oriental Assurance Berhad. On 31 January 2003, it changed its name to Oriental Capital Assurance Berhad after a merger exercise with Capital Insurance Berhad.
A new chapter unfolded in May 2012 when Tune Group through its wholly owned subsidiary, Tune Ins Holdings Berhad, acquired controlling interest in the company. Tune Group founders are Malaysian corporate personalities Tan Sri Tony Fernandes and Dato' Kamarudin Meranun. Subsequently on 21 September 2012, the company changed to its current name, Tune Insurance Malaysia Berhad.
