Menunjukkan bahwa Tuhan adalah sebab pertama dari segala sesuatu, Yang Maha Esa, dan segala sesuatu bergantung kepada-nya, maka manusia Indonesia akan mengembangkan toleransi antar umat beragama, toleransi sesama umat beragama, dan toleransi antar umat beragama dengan negaranya. Tidak akan memaksakan agama kepada pemeluk agama lain. Bangsa Indonesia bukan bangsa yang sekuler atau memisahkan agama dan negara.Indonesia juga bukan negara agama yang mendasarkan kepada agama tertentu.
