Khả năng sinh lời của DN niêm yết phân theo địa điểm niêm yết: Năm 2014, tổng số DN niêm yết trên HNX có kết quả kinh doanh lãi là 317 DN, tăng 3,9% so với năm 2013 với tổng giá trị lãi đạt khoảng 13.020 tỷ đồng, tăng 18,4% so với năm 2013. Trong khi đó, kết quả hoạt động của các DN trên HOSE có xu hướng giảm.Tăng trưởng lợi nhuận sau thuế năm 2014 so với cùng kỳ năm 2013 sụt giảm 1,66%.Tương ứng, tăng trưởng ROA, ROE so với cùng kỳ năm 2013 của các DN niêm yết tại HOSE giảm lần lượt 9,73% và 8,46%.
