Blueberry fruit are delicious and health benefits, researchers provided a new type top fruit. A research team Sarah Johnson from the Department of Nutrition, Food and Exercise Sciences at Florida State University. To investigate the benefit of blueberries on health postmenopausal women with pre- and stage-1 hypertension were randomly assigned to receive either 22 grams of freeze-dried blueberry powder the equivalent to one cup of fresh blueberries or 22 grams of a placebo powder. Participants, continued their normal diet and exercise routines. Results show that the blueberry on average had a 5.1% decrease in systolic blood pressure, a 6.3% reduction in diastolic blood pressure, and had an average reduction of 97 cm/second (6.5%) in arterial stiffness. In conclusion, blueberries may slow prehypertension for high blood pressure, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
