Kieron Sheehy(Sheehy. 2005) ได้ทำการศึกษาการใช้โปรแกรม Morphing images ซึ่งเป็นโปรแกรมที่ใช้ภาพแทรกลงไปในคำ เพื่อพัฒนาศักยภาพการจำคำศัพท์ของเด็กที่มีปัญหาทางการเรียนรู้ขั้นรุนแรงจำนวน 8 คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่าการสอนด้วยวิธีนี้มีประสิทธิภาพและได้ผลดีกว่าการสอนด้วยวิธีที่อ่านคำเพียงอย่างเดียว
