Sáng nay (16/9), tại Hà Nội, Bệnh viện Bạch Mai đã tổ chức lễ khai trương Phòng - Tổng đài tư vấn và hỗ trợ cai nghiện thuốc lá miễn phí.

Đây là sự kiện nằm trong chuỗi các hoạt động của Chương trình Phòng chống tác hại thuốc lá tại Bệnh viện Bạch Mai. Việc ra mắt Tổng đài tư vấn là cách đơn giản, dễ dàng có thể tiếp cận trực tiếp đến những người đang sử dụng thuốc lá và giúp họ từ bỏ nó.

GS TS Ngô Quý Châu, Phó Giám đốc Bệnh viện Bạch Mai, Trưởng ban chỉ đạo Chương trình Phòng chống tác hại thuốc lá cho biết có 2 hình thức tư vấn: tư vấn qua điện thoại miễn phí theo số: 18006606 từ 8h đến 22 h các ngày trong tuần (trừ ngày nghỉ lễ) và tư vấn trực tiếp tại phòng khám 204 – Khoa Khám Bệnh hoặc Trung tâm Hô hấp (Bệnh viện Bạch Mai) từ 8 đến 17h tất cả các ngày trong tuần. Những người hút thuốc lá và những bệnh nhân có bệnh liên quan đến thuốc lá sẽ được các nhân viên y tế tư vấn trực tiếp về việc cai nghiện thuốc lá
Nói về tác hại do thuốc lá gây ra, GS Ngô Quý Châu khẳng định: Hút thuốc lá gây ra 25 căn bệnh khác nhau, trong đó có các bệnh nguy hiểm như: bệnh tim mạch, bệnh hô hấp và ảnh hưởng tới sức khoẻ sinh sản. Hút thuốc ở phụ nữ mang thai gây các ảnh hưởng nghiêm trọng tới sức khỏe của cả bà mẹ cũng như thai nhi. Trong bệnh hô hấp có 3 bệnh liên quan đến hút thuốc lá gồm: ung thư phổi (chiếm 80 đến 90%), bệnh phổi tắc nghẽn mạn tính (chiếm 75%) và hen phế quản.

PGS.TS Lương Ngọc Khuê, Cục trưởng cục Quản lý khám chữa bệnh, Bộ Y tế dẫn báo cáo của Quỹ phòng chống tác hại thuốc lá (Vinacosh) cho thấy đã có rất nhiều nghiên cứu về tác hại của thuốc lá. Chỉ tính riêng 5 nhóm bệnh do thuốc lá gây nên (ung thư phổi, ung thư đường tiêu hóa - hô hấp trên, bệnh phổi tắc nghẽn mãn tính, nhồi máu cơ tim, đột quỵ) đã phải chi phí hơn 22.000 tỷ đồng. Vì vậy, ông Lương Ngọc Khuê khuyên những người hút thuốc lá phải từ bỏ nó ngay và muốn từ bỏ nó phải có quyết tâm.

Trên thế giới có khoảng 1,3 tỷ người hút thuốc lá, 84% số người hút thuốc lá sống tại các nước đang phát triển. Việt Nam nằm trong nhóm 15 quốc gia có số lượng người sử dụng thuốc lá cao hàng đầu thế giới.

Ước tính từ cuộc điều tra hút thuốc lá ở người trưởng thành (từ 15 tuổi trở lên) tại Việt Nam cho biết, tỷ lệ hút thuốc lá ở nam giới là 47,4%; ở nữ giới là 1,4%.

Theo báo cáo của WHO năm 2008 cho thấy, trên thế giới có hơn 1 tỷ người có khoảng 25% số người trưởng thành nghiện thuốc lá. Tuy nhiên, 70% người đang hút thuốc lá cho biết, họ có ý định muốn cai thuốc lá và 2/3 số người vừa tái nghiện thuốc lá muốn cai thuốc lá trở lại trong vòng 30 ngày. Như vậy, nhu cầu được hỗ trợ cai thuốc lá trong cộng đồng là rất lớn./.
