Meeting or exceeding the medical tourists’ expectations and requirements are the priority of both government and private sectors in ensuring a successful medical tourism industry development. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is also currently promoting Thai healthcare services actively by creating worldwide awareness through e-marketing and media campaigns. Also, the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) grants attractive tax and non-tax incentives to investors and businesses in the medical sector. Major incentives include corporate income tax exemption and duty concessions on machinery and raw materials. In addition, a number of non-tax incentives are available, such as the right to own land and facilitations with visas and work permits for expatriates.
