Pour la téléphonie fixe, après 2010, année d’exception où l’effectif des abonnés a chuté, la reprise a été remarquable. Les malgaches prennent conscience de l’importance de l’utilisation de la téléphonie dans l’exercice de leurs activités quotidiennes, même dans les coins les plus reculés du pays. Cette situation est attribuable à l’augmentation du nombre de localités desservies ; à la densifications des réseaux existants ; au développement de la concurrence entre opérateurs ; et à la diversification des offres de service.

In telephony, the number of mobile phone subscribers continues to grow over the years with a particular acceleration since 2011. For fixed telephony, after 2010, year of exception where the number of subscribers has dropped, the recovery has been remarkable. The Malagasy people become aware of the importance of the use of telephony in the exercise of their daily activities, even in the remotest corners of the country. This situation is attributable to the increase in the number of communities served; to the densifications of existing networks; the development of competition between operators; and diversification of service offerings.
