งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาระบบสนับสนุนการตัดสินใจเพื่อให้บริการข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวโดยการประยุกต์ใช้เทคนิคเพื่อนบ้านใกล้ที่สุด (K-Nearest Neighbors) ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล

ซึ่งข้อมูลที่นำมาใช้ในการวิเคราะห์เป็นข้อมูลที่เก็บรวบรวมจากแหล่งท่องเที่ยวภายในจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี และข้อมูลสถานที่ให้บริการโดยรอบแหล่งท่องเที่ยว

โดยระบบนี้ถูกพัฒนาด้วยภาษาพีเอชพี (PHP) ร่วมกับโปรแกรมระบบจัดการฐานข้อมูลแบบโอเพนซอร์สMySQL อีกทั้งมีการ นำเทคโนโลยี Google Map API มาใช้ในการแสดงผลตำแหน่งสถานที่ต่างๆ ผลการประเมินความพึงพอใจจากนักท่องเที่ยวจำนวน 100 คน ด้านการใช้งานระบบแสดงให้เห็นว่า ประสิทธิภาพโดยรวมทั้ง 4 ด้าน อยู่ในระดับมาก ซึ่งเป็นการยืนยันว่าระบบที่พัฒนานี้สามารถนำไปใช้งานได้จริง
