Solar and wind energy systems have become increasingly
popular as desire for clean energy has grown. Typically, these
energy systems consist of buck, or boost DC/DC converter
from these kinds of the energy systems to control their power
operation points. MPPT algorithm plays an essential role in
the DC/DC converter to extract the maximum power under
any circumstance such as temperature or irradiation changes
of the PV system. Up to date, various MPPT algorithms have
been developed [1-8]. The most popular MPPT algorithm is
P&O algorithm because of its simple implementation.
However, the MPPT rate of P&O algorithm easily is sacrificed
with its increasing MPPT accuracy. To improve both of the
rate and accuracy of the MPPT performance, a FLC is
designed for PV applications in this paper. In the section II,
the proposed FLC is explained. The DCM detection algorithm
is described in the section III. And the experiment results and
conclusion are addressed in the section in IV and V,
respectively.
