Instructions:
To introduce the topic, SAY: During this week’s Pre-Shifts, we have been exploring ways that we are empowered to deliver luxury service for each guest, every day. At the close of our last Pre-Shift, each of us was challenged to share ideas from the day’s conversation with team members who were not present.
ASK: Who will tell us—briefly—about what you shared? ALLOW one or two team members to share. LEAD APPLAUSE for the stories.
ASK team members to help you recap important concepts and principles discussed throughout the week.
Because not all team members will have been at all Pre-Shifts, you will need to lean on each other to answer these questions.
ASK the following questions to help you facilitate this conversation:
•What is the primary goal of the Dedicated to Excellence initiative? (That team members will consistently exceed guests’ expectations and deliver flawless service to each guest, every time)
What is our team’s greatest challenge, according to SALT Survey responses, and what is one way to solve the problem?
What is one of the tools that enables us to exceed guest expectations during times of challenge? How is it used?
•ASK: What is the one thing you will do today to ensure that our team exceeds guests’ expectations for luxury service?
•To end the Pre-Shift, SAY: The Dedicated to Excellence initiative is more than just a good idea. It is an innovative program that gives each of us the authority and permission—the power--to resolve guest challenges and exceed guest expectations. If you have questions about how to use that authority appropriately, please contact me. Together, we will work to become the fastest growing, most innovative luxury hotel company in the world.
