Students mentioned that nursing their patients developed their
reflection; this was attributed to what they learnt from their patients
during the course of their work. This gave them an opportunity to
think critically about their practice and be conscious of
their limitations and responses. Again, this illustrated the influence
of a humanistic way of nursing, where the qualities of selfawareness
and personal commitment are very much part of practice.
