Wien im Jahre 1791. Ich sehe die Gestalt des Salieri, der den toten Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart auf dem Schoß hält. Ich sehe die Verbindung zwischen Mozart und Salieri, in meinen Augen der geheimnisvolle Auftraggeber des Requiem. Meine Skulptur zeigt den schicksalhaften Augenblick, in dem Salieri voller Resignation einsehen muss, dass nicht er, sondern Mozart der wahre Genius ist, der durch sein Lebenswerk unsterblich wurde."
