โครงการ "วัยรุ่นยุคใหม่ ใส่ใจการทำงาน ห่างไกลยาเสพติด" เป็นโครงการต่อเนื่องจากเดิม คือ โครงการ "วัยใส ใส่ใจการทำงาน" แต่ได้ปรับเปลี่ยนวิธีการ โดยเน้นการกระจายเยาวชนในสถานศึกษาที่เป็นกลุ่มเสี่ยง อายุระหว่าง 17-23 ปี ทั้งระดับมัธยม อุดมศึกษา อาชีวศึกษา และกระจายหลายจังหวัด เพื่อให้เยาวชนได้เข้ามาทำงานและใช้เวลาว่าง เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในห้องศูนย์เพื่อนใจเพื่อให้การดูแลและติดตามพฤติกรรมเยาวชนในโครงการทั่วถึง และเป็นการสนับสนุนให้เยาวชน ใช้เวลาว่างให้เกิดประโยชน์ ลดการมั่วสุมช่วงปิดเทอม และยังเป็นการหารายได้ ช่วยเหลือครอบครัว นอกจากนี้ หน่วยงานภาครัฐยังเข้ามามีส่วนร่วม ประสานงานหาเยาวชนในสถานศึกษา เข้ามาทำงาน และมีตัวแทนผู้ปกครองเยาวชนบางส่วนเข้ารับฟังแผนและนโยบาย เพื่อจะได้รับทราบและปฏิบัติไปในทิศทางเดียวกัน เกิดเป็นนวัตกรรมใหม่ 3 W มีนักเรียนเข้ามาร่วมโครงการ 4 จังหวัด 20 สถาบันการศึกษา เยาวชนเข้าร่วมโครงการ 2557 จำนวน 485 คน ในอนาคต ต้องการขยายผลไปสู่จังหวัดข้างเคียงอีก 4 จังหวัด คือ เชียงราย, แพร่, ลำปาง, น่าน หรือจังหวัดอื่นในภาคเหนือ ด้วยวิธีขอความร่วมมือจาก สำนักงานแรงงานในแต่ละจังหวัดช่วยประสานงาน
