Michael Schreiber (1949-2012) fand seine Motive dort, wo Architektur den Anspruch erhebt, Kunst zu sein. Immer wieder gelang es dem in Bremen geborenen Künstler, die Faszination der Perspektive in die Ebene des Bildes zu bringen und dadurch die Variationsbreite anspruchsvoller Architektur nachvollziehbar zu machen. Die Villen und Paläste seiner italienischen Wahlheimat waren ihm dabei unerschöpfliche Quelle der Inspiration.

Typisch ist die Kombination von Natur und Architektur zu fantastischen mediterranen Gartenmotiven und Landschaften. Mit gekonnt inszeniertem Lichtspiel und beruhigenden Farben entführt Michael Schreiber den Betrachter in ein lichtumflossenes südländisches Ambiente.

Der Künstler verstarb im Juli 2012 in Italien.
