"... Und den Zeus, den Schreckensen

"... Und den Zeus, den Schreckensender, der die Ägis grausend schwingt." An diese Worte aus Schillers Gedicht "Das Siegesfest" erinnert die im Korinther Zeusheiligtum zu Dodona gefundene Statuette des Donnerers. In Ausfallstellung, die Linke weit vorgestreckt, in der Rechten das Blitzbündel, den Blick ruhig auf das Ziel der furchtbaren Waffe gerichtet, entwickelt sich die Offenheit der Figur so vielschichtig, dass sie den Blick des Betrachters immer wieder um die Statuette herumführt. Man glaubt, Körper und Bewegung plastisch zu erfühlen.
