หน้าที่ของแผนกสินค้าคงคลัง คือ
- รับวัตถุดิบ : รับสินค้าตาม order ที่สั่งซื้อจากบริษัท
- ตรวจเช็ควัตถุดิบ : เมื่อได้รับสินค้ามาแล้วจะต้องทำการนำสินค้าที่ได้นั้นมาตรวจสอบคุณภาพ (Quality Control) ว่าตรงตามสเป็กที่สั่งไปหรือไม่ ถ้าไม่ตรงตามสเป็กหรือมีตำหนิ ก็จะทำการส่งสินค้านั้นไปเปลี่ยนหรือคืนบริษัทที่ทำการสั่งซื้อ
- จัดเก็บ : เมื่อสินค้าที่รับมาผ่านการตรวจสอบคุณภาพเป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว ฝ่ายสินค้าคงคลังก็จะจัดเก็บสินค้านี้ขึ้นชั้น และแจกจ่ายออกไปยังแผนกต่างๆที่ต้องการใช้
