Trong năm 2015 tổng cục thống kê đã kê khai được tỷ lệ thất nghiệp là 2.31% so với năm 2014 , năng suất lao động được cải thiện nhưng vẫn thấp so với các nước trong khu vực Đông Nam Á. Người lao động đnag ở độ tuổi lao động phân chia theo khu vực như sau : nông lâm thủy hải sản chiếm 44.3% , lao động trong công nghiệp xây dựng là 22.9%, lao động trong khu vực dịch vụ chiếm 68,8%.
