Finally, if we go through all that and It go on to explain that gunfire seldom stops a determined attack-—therefore, more shooting is necessary to get
the offender to get down and stop shooting—-then 70-85% or so will get it
right the first time.
It doesn’t take too long to explain the “why” to adult learners. I insist
that adult students take some responsibility for their own motivation, but i
refuse to close any doors. If I’m telling you to do something, I have the duty
to tell you why you need to do it.
Good times
Adult learners seem to “get it” better and quicker when they enjoy their time
in training. It seems that we always had people who dreaded training and
coming to the range. Sometimes, the instructors are the reason.
We do joke around. Some of the humor gets rough and sometimes trainees get their feelings hurt. Do you think they want to learn something from
you if you hurt their feelings? This is something that hits close to home. In
all my years of instruction, I’ve had few complaints. In each of those cases,
someone had gotten his or her feelings hurt. How does that make me feel?
