จากการสำรวจรวบรวมข้อมูลปฐมภูมิและทุติยภูมิ ในส่วนของข้อมูลประชากรย้อนหลัง 10 ปี ในระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2546-2557 โดยทำการสำรวจข้อมูลจริงตามทะเบียนราษฎร์ จากสำนักบริหารการทะเบียน กรมการปกครอง กระทรวงมหาดไทย และจากการสำรวจข้อมูลประชากรนักท่องเที่ยวในเขตเทศบาลเมืองเชียงรายย้อนหลัง 10 ปี สามารถทำการคาดการณ์จำนวนประชากรล่วงหน้าในเขตเทศบาลเมืองเชียงรายและเทศบาลตำบลห้วยสัก จากการใช้วิธีการคาดการณ์ประชากรแบบ Geometric Rate of Growth สามารถคาดการณ์จำนวนประชากรในอนาคต 20 ปีข้างหน้า นับแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2558-2577 ได้ดังตาราง
