ประวัติความเป็นมาของวัดไร่ขิง
วัดไร่ขิง สร้างในปลายสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๓ โดยสมเด็จพระพุฒาจารย์พุ๊กเจ้าอาวาสวัดศาลาปูน จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา ผู้เป็นอธิบดีสงฆ์ ๔ หัวเมือง แต่เดิมเป็นวัดราชตั้งอยู่ริมแม่น้ำนครไชยศรี ตำบลไร่ขิง อำเภอสามพราน จังหวัดนครปฐม พื้นที่แต่ก่อนเป็นไร่ขิงของชาวจีน เมื่อวัดเกิดขึ้นจึงเรียกชื่อวัดตามกลุ่มชุมชนว่า"วัดไร่ขิง" จนกระทั่งในราวปีพุทธศักราช ๒๔๕๖ สมเด็จพระมหาสมณะเจ้ากรมพระยาวชิรญาณวโรรส เสด็จตรวจเยี่ยมวัดในเขตอำเภอสามพราน จึ้งได้ตั้งชื่อให้ใหม่ว่า"วัดคงคาราม" แต่คนทั่วไปยังคงนิยมเรียกกันว่าวัดไร่ขิงแม้ปัจจุบันจะตั้งชื่อใหม่ว่า"วัดมงคลจินดาราม" คนยังเรียกวัดไร่ขิงเหมือนเดิม
