Что касается славянского слова Верблюд, то по мнению ученого Боголюбского, работавшего в Алма-Ате в 30-50 годы, оно готского происхождения.
Несмотря на столь древний возраст, это величественное животное почти до середины двадцатого века не упоминалось в учебниках, в том числе и зоотехнической, и ветеринарной науки.
