มูลนิธิปวีณาหงสกุลเพื่อเด็กและสตรี (องค์การสาธารณประโยชน์) ได้ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อ 27 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2542 มีนางปวีณา ดำรงตำแหน่งประธานมูลนิธิปวีณาหงสกุลเพื่อเด็กและสตรี (องค์การสาธารณประโยชน์) โดยมูลนิธิฯมีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะให้ความช่วยเหลือกับเด็กและสตรีที่ถูกละเมิด สิทธิ ถูกทารุณกรรม ถูกเอารักเอาเปรียบ ในรูปแบบต่างๆ เพื่อให้รับความเป็นธรรมและสามารถดำรงชีวิตอยู่ในสังคมได้เป็นปกติสุขอย่าง ถาวรสืบไป เป็นการช่วยเหลือรัฐบาลในฐานะพลเมืองดีอีกทางหนึ่ง นอกจากนี้มูลนิธิฯ ยังได้เปิดสายด่วน "1134" และ "ตู้ ปณ.222 ธัญบุรี" เพื่อรับเรื่องร้องทุกข์อีกด้วย
