The Danish landscape artist Peder Mork Mönsted traveled through Europe and created an extensive Œuvre of versatile natural impressions. Again and again in between, he returned in his Scandinavian home and painted there mostly deserted, pristine River and forest landscapes. Mönsted was clearly influenced by impressionism and his work can be classified is hardly in the academic landscape painting of the period.
