I was hoping there was more to the story than just giving $100 in groceries. Jesus said you can give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, but if you teach him to fish, he will eat for the rest of his life. To the person who said "God or no God", this is my comment in response. I pity the hopeless who choose to ignore when God moves on someone's heart to do a merciful act. "Thank Goodness" is a rebellious way to thank God without giving Him the Glory. Where does the "Goodness" come if not from God. We are fed up with society today, but it's a result of kicking God out of our schools. We don't take our kids to church and teach them what the Bible says about right and wrong, Mercy, Grace and Love. Jesus gave His life in the Ultimate act of Mercy. If He did what was right under the law, He would have let us all burn. Officer Thomas could have done the right thing (according to the law) and arrested a thief. Instead she showed Mercy. This is when people should ask where was God when "this" happened. He showed Himself to you and you rob Him of his Glory and deny His existence. Just as Satan decieved Adam and Eve, so are you also decieved. Now that you know this, will you still stick your head in the sand and deny His existence? When you are kneeling before Him with no more chance for Redemption, what excuse could you possibley give that He would show you Mercy? Who says you'll have a chance to defend yourself. You make the decision here and after that, your fate is sealed. The Bible says "The fool says 'There is no God" and it also says "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom". The Bible has all of the answers you need if you have an open mind. To Pam, I apologize for being long-winded. I think it was a great article and it Glorified God!
