Output elasticity was highest for seed followed by feed and labor in both the production farms. In case of extensive systems, the output elasticity of seed, feed and labor were 0.732, 0.126 and 0.052 respectively. While in the case of semi-intensive systems, the output elasticity of seed, feed and labor were 0.808, 0.044 and 0.068 respectively. One can observe that, relative to semi-intensive farms, extensive farms were more responsive to the feed application. The returns to scale estimates (i.e., the sum of the output elasticities of inputs) for extensive and semi-intensive farms were 0.910 and 0.920 respectively and hence, both the systems exhibited constant returns to scale.
