จากการคำนวณหาอัตราปริมาณขยะมูลฝอยในอนาคตในที่นี้จะใช้การคาดการณ์แบบ Geometric Rate of Growth ตามสูตรการคำนวณต่อไปนี้
Pn = Po (1+r)n
1+r = antilog (log (Pn/Po)/n)
r = อัตราการเพิ่มขยะมูลฝอยเฉลี่ย
Po = จำนวนขยะมูลฝอยในปีปัจจุบัน
Pn = จำนวนขยะมูลฝอยในปีที่ n
จากการใช้วิธีการคาดการณ์แบบ Geometric Rate of Growth สามารถคาดการณ์ปริมาณขยะมูลฝอยในอนาคต 20 ปีข้างหน้าของเทศบาลนครเชียงราย นับแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2558-2577 ได้ดังตารางที่ 15
