Dear Colleagues,
At the recent annual meeting of the Global Leadership team, we spent a lot of time discussing the shape of the company we are building, the type of culture we need to have, and how these will be driven by our Vision, Mission, and Values.
Today, I’d like to focus on one Value in particular: the courage to make difficult promises and the integrity to keep them.
“Integrity” is the key word here – it means to act with honesty, truth, and honor. We as a company have made difficult promises and set challenging financial targets. But we recognize that there is a right way, and a wrong way, to deliver against these targets. If there are issues, say something. If you need help, ask for it. Supporting each other to act in ways that make us proud to work at AIG will make us a better company now and long into the future.
I am so proud of your accomplishments and the real progress we are making together. I am impressed by how people are coming together to find new ways to serve our clients. There are no shortcuts to reach our Vision to be our clients’ most valued insurer, and we must never forget our Values in trying to reach our goals.
Thank you,
