The pile foundations are usually socketed or embedded into rock layer for increasing their resistance against large lateral and axial loads. It is necessary to determine both the ultimate skin friction resistance and the end bearing capacity of the pile. In this thesis, the behavior of the pile embedded into limestone rock of Riyadh will be studied using experimental tests on physical models brought from deffernet sites in Riyadh zone ,then a geotechnical finite element software (PLAXIS 3d-2015) will be used to simulate the models using a scaling factor. The aim of modeling is to examine the influence of different parameters on the socketing or embedding length in rock. Hoek-Brown failure criterion will consider to model limestone rock layer and Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion will consider to model soil layers . This study will carried out using different parameters such as diameter of piles, length of pile, rock quality designation (RQD) and unconfined compressive strength.
