In this section, the statistical comparisons of results are presented.
First, the statistical comparison of multiple classifiers is
performed, in which the null-hypothesis being tested is that all
algorithms perform the same and the observed differences are
merely random. In this test, we want to check whether the ELM
based algorithms including OS-ELM and our proposed algorithm
are significantly superior to the other algorithms. Only the algorithms
that presented results to all six data sets including autoMPG,
abalone, California housing, image segmentation, satellite
image and DNA are considered. All algorithms are ranked for each
data set separately, the best performing algorithm getting the rank
of 1, the second best rank 2, and so on. In the case of ties, the average
ranks are assigned. The average rank for each algorithm is computed
and given in Table 5. The performance of two classifiers is
significantly different if the corresponding average ranks at least
a critical difference
