Christian Sauer (*1977) ist Meisterschüler der Berliner Universität der Künste, und die Stadt Berlin spielt in seinem durch zahlreiche Ausstellungen gewürdigten Werk immer wieder eine Rolle.

Ungewöhnlich ist Sauers Technik der „peinture collée“. Der Künstler gießt Acrylfarbe auf einzelne Folienstücke, um sie nach dem Trocknen zu gegenständlichen Motiven zusammenzusetzen und mit dem Pinsel weiterzubearbeiten - so erreicht er ganz ungewöhnliche Farbverläufe und eine enorme Plastizität im Bildausdruck.
