Krum Stanoev, geboren 1961 in Sofia, studierte Kunst an der Nicolai Pavlovich Art Universität in Sofia, Bulgarien. 1990 begann seine internationale Karriere mit Ausstellungen in Madrid, Zaragoza, Buenos Aires und selbstverständlich Sofia.

Stanoev ist ein Meister der „Metalworks“. Grundlage seiner Arbeit sind spontane Federzeichnungen, die er in einem zweiten, aufwändigen Arbeitsschritt als filigrane Metallgebilde umsetzt. So belässt er ihnen einerseits den Charakter der Zeichnung, schafft aber zugleich dreidimensionale, schattenwerfende Objekte von großer Eindringlichkeit. Die Kontur des Federstrichs und der Schatten der Skulptur stehen dabei in einem spannenden Dialog.
