It should also be emphasized that atmosphere as a “controllable” or organizational tool only has relevance if it generates some reactions within or among the guests of importance for the firm, for example guest satisfaction, favorable word-of-mouth, increase in number of visitors, etc. For example, it might be that an effort to improve
the atmosphere may lead to certain emotions and beliefs, which in turn influence the
guest’s experience and/or loyalty.
