A number of studies on the linkage between business strategy, management accounting practices and performance are well document in literature. In their study Cadez and Guilding (2012) sought to identify the link between strategy, strategic management accounting and the organization’s performance. A similar study by Lee and Cobia (2013) sought to identify the way in which effective strategic management accounting may support the growth of start-up businesses. Hiebl et al. (2012) sought to determine how institutionalization of management accounting may result in enhancing the performance of family business through aiding in strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation. A study by Abdel and McLellan (2013) sought to identify the manner in which strategy and strategic management accounting influence the performance of the organization.
